Renee Rambo-McEwen – Chairman, IEU-Ohio
Renee holds three degrees from Youngstown State University, Associates in Drafting and Design, Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Masters in Industrial Engineering. Over the course of her career she has held many leadership roles in the Automotive, Utility, and Steel industries. Renee has been an advocate for Energy Management for many years during her time at Vallourec and is responsible for the implementation of ISO50001, utility and energy relationships, billing/costs, strategies for sustainability and carbon emissions, curtailment programs, and other programs designed to minimize Vallourec’s electricity costs. Renee is currently serving as Chairman for the Industrial Energy Users-Ohio.
Matt Brakey, Secretary, IEU-Ohio
Matt manages all services Brakey Energy provides to clients and directs the company’s operations. He is an expert on energy markets, securing and negotiating third-party energy contracts, and Ohio’s energy regulatory environment. Matt joined Brakey Energy in 2004 and become President in 2010. Matt served two terms as Chairman of the Industrial Energy Users-Ohio, where he helped the organization in its pursuit of reliable energy at reasonable prices for Ohio businesses. He is currently the Secretary of the organization.
Matthew Pritchard, General Counsel, IEU-Ohio
Matt is General Counsel of IEU-Ohio and an attorney with the law firm McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC. Matt has been providing legal support for IEU-Ohio since 2010, representing the organization in countless rate case proceedings, rulemakings, and other matters before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and in appeals before the Ohio Supreme Court.
Kevin M. Murray, Executive Director, IEU-Ohio
Kevin Murray is the Executive Director of IEU-Ohio and a Technical Specialist in the Columbus, Ohio office of McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC. He has worked with customers addressing matters that affect the pricing, availability and reliability of natural gas, electricity and other utility services. His experience includes evaluating regulatory proceedings at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and various state agencies; providing analysis of proposed tariff or rate offerings; assisting in the development of regulatory and commercial strategies; and providing clients assistance in utility contract negotiations, utility and site selections for new facilities, and performing competitor analysis and analysis of customer usage patterns. He has assisted customers on committing energy efficiency projects towards electric distribution company portfolio obligations to comply with recent legislative requirements. He has been extensively involved in activities related to the creation and startup of regional transmission organizations and energy markets in the Midwest. He is a sector representative for end use customers on the Midcontinent ISO Advisory Committee and previously served as committee chairman.

Rebekah recently joined the law firm McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC as Of Counsel. Rebekah has extensive experience representing clients across the utility landscape at the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio in a variety of regulatory matters, including base rate cases, annual compliance reviews, and electric security plan proceedings.
Joseph Bowser, Technical Specialist, IEU-Ohio
Joe Bowser is a Technical Specialist in the Columbus, Ohio office of McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC. In this role he focuses on helping clients address issues that affect the price and availability of utility services. As part of his responsibilities, he also provides clients with assistance in evaluating and acting upon opportunities to secure value for their demand response and other capabilities in the base residual auction (“BRA”) and incremental auctions conducted by PJM Interconnection LLC (“PJM”) as part of the Reliability Pricing Model (“RPM”).
Prior to joining McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, Joe worked with the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel as Director of Analytical Services. There he managed the analysis of financial, accounting, and ratemaking issues associated with utility regulatory filings, and assisted in policy development and strategy. Joe also spent ten years at Northeast Utilities, where he held positions in the Regulatory Planning and Accounting departments of the company. He provided litigation support in regulatory hearings and assisted in the preparation of the financial/technical documents filed with state and federal regulatory commissions. Joe began his career with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), where he lead and conducted audits of gas and electric utilities in the Eastern and Midwestern regions of the United States.
Joe is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Clarion State College. He also obtained a Master of Science degree in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Anthony J Smith, P.E., IEU-OhioSr. Supply Chain Contracts Representative (Energy Supply), Marathon Petroleum Company
Anthony is responsible for electrical utility supply for Marathon Petroleum’s assets in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He is involved in industrial utility user groups within these states as well as larger groups that monitor at the regional grid level (PJM). Prior to joining Marathon Petroleum, Mr. Smith led energy savings initiatives and energy governmental advocacy as the Global Energy Coordinator for an international tire manufacturer. He has authored numerous newsletter articles on energy topics and is also a frequent panelist and speaker on industrial energy efficiency. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.
Charles Willoughby, Senior Government Relations Advisor
Charles Willoughby, who has a background in government, corporate, and nonprofit lobbying and public affairs joined McNees Wallace & Nurick as Senior Government Relations Advisor on March 16, 2020.
Prior to joining McNees Wallace & Nurick, Charles served as the Director of
Government Affairs for American Municipal Power and the Ohio Municipal
Electric Association where he held key roles in developing corporate and
legislative strategies to address rapid changes in energy markets, customer
demands, technologies and regulations, as well as achieved improved relations
with internal and external stakeholders and organizational credibility.
His broad work history also includes serving as Director – Energy and
Environmental Policy for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Consultant –
Industrial Energy Users of Ohio, Legislative Liaison – Ohio Attorney General’s
Office, Legislative Aide – the Ohio Senate, and Ohio House of Representatives.
Charles has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
